May31SWR slash waste bills for Edinburgh Woollen Mill
SWR, has won the contract for the Scottish gift and knitwear retailer, Edinburgh Woollen Mill.
SWR will implement a new streamlined operation for the company’s general waste, cardboard and mixed recycling at 84 retail sites across Scotland. The new process will improve recycling levels from an average of 30 percent to an impressive 75 percent, while achieving estimated savings in the region of 12 percent over the next three years.
Katrina Bell at the Edinburgh Woollen Mill said: “Until now our waste was being handled by a national company with its own fleet of collection vehicles. However, these were able to service very few of our Scottish sites effectively, as many of them are in remote locations with limited access to recycling facilities.”
SWR CEO, Giles Whiteley, said: “We use a smart mix of capabilities and resources drawn from our huge network of trusted suppliers along with our own recycling facilities across the UK. This enables us to deliver the best possible service solution, regardless of location.
“Whatever the mix of resources the whole process is managed through a dedicated SWR account team, which means one single point of contact and one monthly invoice.
“Our unique approach will enable Edinburgh Woollen Mill to make significant operational efficiencies, substantial savings, and a much improved recycling performance.”
SWR will also provide Edinburgh Woollen Mill with quarterly reports outlining the environmental and recycling performance of each site.
