Sep21Giles Whiteley reports back on RWM

This was the first year we at SWR have attended the RWM event at the NEC as exhibitors and we’re very glad we did.   It was very well attended by both the industry and organisations with various needs and aspirations to improve the way in which they manage all or elements of their waste.

It was an opportunity to catch up with existing contacts and make new ones.  In fact as SWR is still expanding rapidly I took the opportunity to meet with potential new staff and made the coffee area my office for interviews. Our CEO and Chairman, Angus MacDonald, was like a child in a sweet shop as he networked the entire event in a single day; a very impressive feat I have to say. I have no doubt that we will be doing business with a good number of organisations as a direct result of the event.

Most importantly the team manning our stand, of which I was one, met a lot of companies that we are very well placed to serve effectively as customers and received fantastic feedback about the approach we take to our work.  I look forward to working with as many of them as possible over the coming months.  If you are one of these people I would like to thank you for making the event what it was for us.

A big thank you too to all the team at SWR who worked so hard to make the event what it was.
Lastly….. Congratulations to Steve Anderson of Fife Council who won the SWR Whisky Challenge.  He correctly identified the three whiskies and wins £200 of vouchers of his choice.
