UK Select Accident Repair Centre is an independent Accident Repair Centre in Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire. The business has a large workshop with 19 productive technicians. Uk Select require a waste management solution that was cost effective, legally compliant and environmentally friendly.

We started working with UK Select ARC in March of 2008. Prior to working with us, UK Select used a large, on-site skip for all of their waste, which was then sent to a landfill. It was our objective to install a waste management system that would manage all aspects of the waste generated at UK Select.

What was good about it?

We were able to install a system to recycle all paper, cardboard, plastics, tyres and metals, which reduced the waste sent to Landfill to just two 1100 litre wheelie bins per week. We were able to establish a single point of contact for all of UK Selects waste issues, provide regular recycling and carbon savings reports to record real results and a legally compliant system that saved UK Select money on their total waste management costs.

The waste management system put in place at UK Select was highly successful and achieved a 20% reduction on waste costs and after only 6 months a staggering 87% of waste was being recycled. There was a carbon footprint saving of 38.8%. For their high achievements in waste recycling, UK Select ARC won SWR’s Recycling Challenge and were rewarded for their great accomplishment.
