Angus MacDonald – Executive Chairman
Angus founded SWR in May 2007, following 11 years as CEO of eFinancialNews Group, which was sold in two parts to Dow Jones and Dice Inc for £79m. Prior to that he built up and sold Edinburgh Financial Publishing.

Giles Whiteley – Chief Executive Officer
Giles maintains a strategic overview of all operations at SWR. In previous roles he was responsible for 19,000 business customers at the Redstone Telecom company, and a consultant to the manufacturing industry specialising in operational efficiency for large organisations. Giles is strongly focused on creating an excellent customer experience, through investing in people and process.

Rupert Pennant Rea – Non-Executive Director
Rupert is chairman of Henderson Group Plc and The Economist Group. Earlier, he led the buy-out of Her Majesty’s Stationery Office and subsequent sale of its various businesses. He is a former editor of The Economist and a former deputy governor of the Bank of England.

Ralph Kanter – Non-Executive Director
Ralph was formerly chairman of PHS, Safety Kleen, Inchcape Shipping Services and a number of other private equity owned companies. He currently holds a range of non executive directorships in small and medium sized public and private companies. He is a volunteer business mentor for the Princes Trust.
Peter Jones OBE Joins SWR
SWR has appointed Peter Jones OBE to its Board as non-executive director.
With more than 20 years experience in the waste industry with Biffa Plc, latterly as Development and External Affairs director, Peter Jones was instrumental in growing the business from a £40 million to £760 million turnover company through organic and acquisitive growth.
Well-known as a public communicator on the economic, technological and socio-political dimensions of the sector, Peter has been a member of Defra’s technologies working group, Business Resource Efficiency and Waste (BREW) panel and formerly the DTI’s Environmental Innovation Advisory Group. More recently, Peter was appointed as the Mayor of London’s Board Member on the London Waste Advisory Board.
